IS SLEEPWEAR IS THE NEW OUTERWEAR?

The pyjama shirt and trouser combo is definitely a trend that seems to grow with each Fashion Season. Wallpaper florals, pinstripes, polka dots and bedlinen shades of white and cream will make the most overt bedtime references. The trend is great news for those in the business of nightwear! Brands such as Zara and Bershka were quick to jump on the band wagon and sell reasonably priced nightwear pieces that are wearable on the streets.

The sleepwear trend has really caught our attention during these last few seasons. It has had us modelling in front the mirror, in our best satin nightgowns from ASOS. We are encouraged to take our white satin with black lace slips and wear them out in public, plunging necklines and high slits and all, as was the case at Celine.

Along with the whole sleepwear trend is the increase of the slipper slides trend. Brands such as Puma and Adidas have become widely known for their slides, which have only grown popular with time.

From crisp and elegant PJ-style sets at Thakoon, lingerie inspired pieces shown at Calvin Klein, and nightie dresses at Balenciaga, we’ll all be sleeping in our clothes this Spring and will never want to take them off. However, not everything that is sleepwear comes in slips either, meaning that the robes and pyjamas seen up on stage are game as well, from oversized pants at Balenciaga, peachy warm sets at Leowe, and fun black and white combinations with a red stole at Sonia Rykiel.
