Many remember her from her breakthrough role as Jill Munroe, in the series Charlie's Angels, that aired in 1976. During her prime years in film, she received countless Golden Globe nominations and Emmy nominations as well. At first, I didn't understand my mother when she first told me that the OG Charlie's Angels weren't Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore, as those were the characters I grew up watching. But by watching the original TV show with Fawcett, Jackson and Smith, I could comprehend why the original will always be better than the remake (with only a few exceptions).
Fawcett shared her advice about boys, like "The reason the all-American boy prefers beauty to brains is that he can see better than he can think" and "God gave women intuition and femininity. Used properly, the combination easily jumbles the brain of any man I've ever met."
But she also spoke words of wisdom, mostly about self confidence, like "I thought Marilyn Monroe was the most beautiful woman in the world and Elizabeth Taylor breathtaking. But when I see myself on the screen I say: 'Oh shoot! What are they talking about?'"
The red one-piece swimsuit photograph was one of Fawcett's most iconic images to this day, as after its release, it sold 20 million copies. The red swimsuit itself was donated to the National Museum of American History a couple years after Fawcett's death in 2009. The swimsuit was designed by Norma Kamali.
The Farrah Fawcett shirt I wore is from Zara. Unfortunately, it's almost sold out everywhere. Zara released two shirts, one featuring her iconic red swimsuit photograph and the other an original black 'n' white image of her in the 70's.
