It can be the hardest task to find that one healthy snack that promotes a healthy diet and prevents snacking every few hours throughout the day. If you're someone who's constantly on the move everyday, carrying a smoothie, protein shake or fruit may not be your best option so a dry snack, which is usually more filling, could be your go-to snack.
In the past I've gone through different healthy snack phases. These include my smoothie phase, my dry fruit phase (my school friends can attest that I used to eat dried banana and mango everyday) and my plain-and-simple snack bar phase (this can usually end up being the priciest).
For the big reveal: What is my latest favourite go-to healthy snack? A vegan homemade trail mix, made up of cacao nibs, goji berries, dark chocolate puffed quinoa, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and golden linseed.
I buy mine in separate packets from Infinity Foods, an organic brand which is also reasonably priced. Pour all the packets into a big jar and just scoop out what you want to eat into a small bowl. The snack is low in calories and fat, high in protein and full of antioxidants and vitamins. I would recommend including some form of vegan chocolate, in this case the dark chocolate puffed quinoa or cacao nibs, as that's where the main taste comes from. Pack this snack into small tubs so you can eat it on the go!
