INTERNING AT ELLE MAGAZINE: WEEK 2

Second week interning at ELLE UK; done and dusted.

Being two weeks into the internship now, it has now become a routine and I am more familiar with the workings of this sector of ELLE. I am working alongside other interns, who are also studying like me which also makes the job easier and more enjoyable during the long hours. We shot the spring cover shoot (with Taylor Swift) so we were working on returning the goods asap back to pr agencies and fashion houses, which can be a long and tiresome process but needs to be done.

With a week-off now for Christmas and New Year break, I will go back again on January 2nd for a further two weeks!

My Personal Take on it All: The word "internship" is defined as, "the position of a student or trainee who works in an organisation, sometimes without pay, in order to gain work experience." In other words, its basically just working to make someone rich whilst getting nothing in return (as said by Urban Dictionary). It is widely known that a majority of companies and brands in the fashion industry function on the basis of free labour; provided by interns. So when you read that this generation of Millennials and Generation Z's have the highest percentage of freelancers than ever before, can we even question it?
