Fashion Blogs You Should Follow

We've become accustomed to the concept that all one needs to do to be classified as a "fashion blogger" is to have a good Instagram theme, to attract an audience, and be physically attractive wearing stylish pieces. But what I look for, is ones ability to critique brands whilst also looking "fashionable". When's the last time you saw a blogger criticise a Resort or Spring/Summer show that they disliked? My point exactly. Bloggers would much rather appear as though they adored a collection just so that they can be invited back next season. All we need is a little more independence and a little less immodesty.



The whole point behind this point isn't to bash fashion bloggers, but quite the opposite. Blogging as a whole is a substantial part of my future career (had to reword this twice so I wouldn't have to say "blogging is my life" eugh), and so over the years I've learned which bloggers I want to follow in the footsteps of and how to successfully grow your blog. Below I've chosen a handful of bloggers that I believe to be some of the best and most popular in the industry. From Aimee Song to Bryan Boy to Julia Engel, these are some of my favourites.

Aimee Song of "Song of Style"
Fashion and interior design blogger best known for her Song of Style blog and self-titled YouTube channel. I adore her YouTube channel and her "home series" where she has been documenting the process of remodelling her new home. Also, she was one of the first bloggers I ever followed!




Julia Engel of "Gal Meets Glam"
Fashion and beauty expert who became popular with her blog Gal Meets Glam, which has attracted hundreds of thousands of readers per month. She also has a YouTube channel. There's just something able Engel that makes me want to move to the French Riviera, drink wine in my vineyard and sail around on my yacht. Is that too much to ask for? 

Chriselle Lim of "The Chriselle Factor"
Created the popular fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blog The Chriselle Factor in December of 2011. Before blogging, she began uploading content to YouTube as a fashion vlogger. She is married to Allen and has a daughter called Chloe-Victoria. 




Negin Mirsalehi
Dutch blogger who first received major attention through her Instagram account, which boasts more than 4 million followers. She created her own personal style blog, neginmirsalehi.com, which is home to all of her fashion and lifestyle tastes. She also has a YouTube channel, where she posts vlogs regularly usually featuring her boyfriend and her new dog (so so so cute!)




Chiara Ferragni of "The Blonde Salad"
What is a blogger list without mentioning Ferragni at least once? Fashion designer and blogger who founded the fashion blog The Blonde Salad and wrote a book of the same name. The most well known fashion blogger with nearly 10 million Instagram followers! 

Bryan Boy
There will always be room for males in the blogging sector, even if it's not as common. Been in the game for over a decade, Bryan Boy has also won awards, such as the 2007 Philippine Blog Award. He has been recognised by one of the few bloggers and influences that always follows the FTC guidelines.

Leandra Medine of "The Man Repeller"

Blogger and author known for her fashion/humor blog The Man Repeller. She went on to publish the book "Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls" in 2013. The popularity of blog earned her several accolades, including being named to Forbes's Top 30 Under 30 in 2012. Don't you justify want to be her friend, like she just looks so likeable and cool to be around (inner fan girl).

Jenny Cipoletti of "Margo and Me"
LA-based fashion, travel and lifestyle blogger who became the creator behind the site Margo & Me. She's also been a contributing writer for Who What Wear, MyDomaine and Byrdie. She's been featured in media outlets such as The Zoe Report and E! Online for her expertise in fashion.
