The Leaders of the Sneaker Game

As of this year, what sneaker brands have caught your attention? What have been the most popular the past few seasons? We're aware that Nike is the best selling sneaker brand in the industry, with Adidas taking second place and Converse a mere third place. But in the luxury fashion business, we have seen a recent popular demand for streetwear, and with this comes the sneaker game.

Therefore, the question we ask is, who are the leaders of the sneaker game? Here are my picks.

Is it really a must-have sneaker list without mentioning the classic Gucci sneakers? Take a walk down Oxford Street in London and you're bound to see at least a dozen people walk around wearing these carrying Selfridges paper bags... and the fact that they're unisex and so wearable makes them even more likeable!

This is current favourite of mine this year! What I would give to get my hands on a pair of the speed trainers in black with the white sole (Christmas wya?) In all seriousness, Demna Gvasalia has truly transformed Balenciaga since his start in 2015. Look back a few decades and see the difference in the audience's age demographic and the collection itself, we ask, would Cristóbal Balenciaga be proud?

With the most recent S/S 2018 collection from Louis Vuitton, we were presented with the most fascinating sneaker of the season. Receiving mixed reviews, the sneaker has a love-hate relationship with the public.

Its not a regular occurrence to see Chanel sneakers but Karl Lagerfeld has created some classic trainers in his time at Chanel. Who would've known? They retail for an arm and a leg but what else would you expect from a brand like Chanel?

Now I wouldn't necessarily call them the "leaders" of the sneaker game, but Raf Simons (former Creative Director) and Maria Grazia Chiuri (current Creative Director) really have created some wearable sneakers in their time at Dior.
